Notable Victories


In this groundbreaking international securities fraud class action, we helped Lead Plaintiffs to reach a $175 million settlement to resolve all claims against all Defendants on October 26, 2021. This case arises out of Defendants’ misrepresentations and omissions concerning the financial status of the Chinese coffee company Luckin Coffee, Inc.


We served as a part of the co-lead counsel team in this action alleging that Wells Fargo used an automatic telephone dialing system to repeatedly call the cellular phone numbers of persons with no prior affiliation with Wells Fargo. On December 10, 2019, the Honorable Manish S. Shah of the Northern District of Illinois granted final approval of a $17,850,000 settlement for class members.


We helped to secured a $50 million settlement in the certified product defect class action against Apple on behalf of purchasers of MacBook laptops equipped with Apple’s allegedly defective butterfly keyboard. The court granted final approval of a $50 million settlement in May 2023.


We helped to secure a $105 million cash settlement in this securities fraud class action case arising out of Defendants’ representations and omissions regarding Walgreen’s highly publicized earnings target of $9 billion to $9.5 billion for fiscal year 2016 (the “FY16 target”) and the negative impact of hyperinflation in generic drug prices (“generic inflation”) combined with unfavorable reimbursement contracts that caused significant reductions in Walgreen’s gross margins and earnings. On November 2, 2021, the U.S. District Court, NDIL denied in large part Defendants’ motion for summary judgment, and the parties reached a $105 million cash settlement just before trial, which the Court preliminarily approved on June 29, 2022.


As a part of the team that served on the Executive Committee in this price-fixing class action on behalf of direct purchasers of aluminum, tantalum, and film capacitors. Plaintiffs allege that the capacitor manufacturers, faced with declining demand, agreed to raise, fix, and stabilize capacitor prices. The litigation has generated recoveries to date of over $600 million.
